11/3/97 Rob Avruch is alive and well, still lives in the DC area and will possibly be attending Maryland Police Acedemy in the near future. He and Seth Kaplan, still in the DC area as well, haven't killed each other yet, thus, they remain close friends.

Yael Ben-David is engaged, getting married in March to Doron Ben-Naim, a fellow Tel Avivi. She is in her second year studying graphic design in a private college in Tel Aviv, he is a student as well, and both work part-time.

12/11/00 On December 1, 2000, Jeff Bier and his wife Liz (Barr) Bier had a boy Jacob Morris Bier. The baby and mother are in good health. At the Brit Milah several members of the SSDS '90 group were spotted and determined to be in good health - Michael Plancy, Gill Schorr, Rachel Halprin, Robert Zucker, Alan Mohl and yours truly (Marc Herman).

12/11/00 Just at Jeff Bier's sons Bris. The baby is a spitting image of proud papa!! No kidding. Marc Herman, Michael Plancey, Alan Mohl, Gil Schorr and Rob Zucker are all my witnesses!

7/28/00 Jeff Bier is married to Liz Barr (a friend of Wendy Herman's from U of Del.) and she is pregnant and due in the fall. Jeff graduated law school (Cardozo) and is now an executive and general counsel at Richards Mfg. (his family's company). Liz is the an educational director for the Scotch Plains (NJ) JCC. They are doing well.

1/12/97 Annie Schreiber (nee Chapman) is currently getting her Masters and Bradley is applying to law school.

11/11/96 Annie Chapman is married and her new name is Annie Schreiber.

8/1/01 Orly Czernia Bradley gave birth to a cute baby boy on 6 July named Joshua Morris Bradley.

6/27/00 Becky Sheinbaum (nee Feldman)'s brother, Seth S. Feldman, who left JDS in 1989 (I believe) also graduated from both Georgetown Day School (1993) and Brown University (1997). He's working as a consultant for PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Manhattan and living on the Upper West Side. He'll be starting the MBA program at Columbia University in the fall.

1/22/04 My brother Seth Feldman is working for Merck Pharmaceuticals. He and his wife Lisa Ellern are expecting a daughter any day now!

10/31/03 Shimona and Ari Katz just had a beautiful girl, Tamar, in mid-October, and all three Katzes are doing wonderfully.

11/11/96 Shimona Fellner is married and her new name is Shimona Katz. Her wedding was well-attended by JDS folk...according to Shimona, "Annie (Chapman) Schreiber, Mayrav Teller, and Ana Sobel were among the bridesmaids, plus Leor, Tova, Elaine Weiss, Tammy Fuchs, Ayelet Miller, Marcia (Chapman) Glickman, Sara (Fellner) LaFountain (of course), and Michael Fellner (of course) were also there..."

11/11/96 Shimona Katz (nee Fellner) is now working for Dell Magazines in the puzzle department. I am sure Jeremy is extremely jealous.

6/4/01 At the same time back in D.C. Peter Fidler attempted the same stunt (see entry for Avi Rubel from 6/4/01) with Al Gore, still holding onto that faint hope Gore will become President.

11/12/96 Peter Fidler is up at harvard's public policy school, so his address is no longer valid.

11/13/96 Dan Frisch (JDS '91) is in my medical school class. (He also happens to be my first cousin.) (I don't know if this should really go here, but I guess it can't hurt...)

5/26/03 Tamara (Fuchs) Gorodetzky had a girl: Ella Rose Gorodetzky 7 lbs 1 oz, 19.5 inches May 20, 12:34pm

11/16/99 Daniel Kerchner ran into Tamara Fuchs, Michael Pitch, and Ana Sobel while hiking at Sugarloaf Mountain just a few weeks ago (but unfortunately I didn't get their email addresses).

5/23/97 Tamara Fuchs graduated from Washington University with a Masters in Architecture.

Tova Geller graduated from U of Chicago in June, 1995; is now in Edinburgh, Scotland pursuing an internship in a museum either there or nearby. Planning to stay away six months, but not definite.

5/23/97 Ethan Gershon is engaged to an Australian woman.

10/24/03 Mia Gerstel is now living in NYC with husband Jeff and their daughter Elyssa. Apparently another addition to the Gerstel clan is on its way.

5/23/97 Amir Gold (SSDS) is engaged to be married to his college girlfriend, Jane.

5/23/97 Susan Gold works at the MAC makeup counter in Nordstrom in Montgomery Mall. She works part time as an interior designer.

Aaron Goldberg returned from New Mexico with a cat, but leaving behind his married girlfriend.

5/23/97 Sandy Goldberg is going to graduate school at Univ of Michigan.

8/31/98 Lori Goldman married Brett. Peter Fidler and Mariana Levinas Huberman attended the wedding. Lori is now living in Baltimore and is in a pre-med program. Brett is a 1st-year resident at Johns Hopkins. Lori will be at Mariana's wedding this weekend.

5/23/97 Lori Goldman ran into Mrs. Fellner (Shimona's mom) at the airport (we're not really sure which airport).

10/12/97 Lori Goldman, who sat next to Peter Fidler at Rosh Hashana services, is in Boston working for a publishing company but may be moving back to DC in a few months.

2/5/99 Eliot Goldstein is an International Relations Assoicate at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in Jerusalem, Israel.

10/28/97 Eliot Goldstein just moved to Israel and is living in Jerusalem, currently looking for work.

5/23/97 Eliot Goldstein is enjoying life at the Israeli Consulate in Chicago. Is it true that he is probably leaving to go to Israel soon?!?!

2/5/99 Scott Greene recently became engaged to Sarah Lambert of Toronto, Canada. A thanksgiving day 1999 wedding is planned in Toronto

10/28/97 Scott Greene is in London studying Internatinal Relations at the London School of Economics.

Scott Greene just finished travelling in New Zealand, Australia, the Far East, Thailand, etc., and is recuperating in Israel.

Scott Greene just moved to NYC after travelling around South Asia.

Scott Greene was arrested running naked in Central Park with a lampshade on his head on his 24th birthday.

8/18/97 Senda Jarmuth was seen behind a camera at her sister Arielle's wedding on 8/17/97 at JTS in New York. She swears she will log in someday to look at this page. Senda is working as a copywriter at a radio station, and will be marrying Jeff Newman on January 18, 1998.

12/11/00 Marsha (Kheel) Goldwasser and Phil Goldwasser gave birth to a boy this past Friday. The only additional fact I know is that the baby is near 10 lbs. I assume a name will be publicly shared following the Brit Milah. (Please recall that Mike Plancy is related to Marsha through her husband Phil.)

8/25/03 Senda Newman (nee Jarmuth) works at FEGS (previously known as the Jewish Federation) has a Masters in Social Work and is currently pursuing her PhD in Social Work.

10/28/97 J.J. Levine will graduate from the University of Michigan with a joint MBA/Near Easter Studies Degree. He just recently made Sandy Goldberg a phenomenal Shniztle (?) dinner.

JJ Levine is in U of Michigan getting a Master's in Middle Eastern studies.

6/30/96 David Lipsman will not be getting married any time soon.

Ryan Longman is reportedly applying to Med School.

10/12/97 Evan Meyer is back in Washington after a 3-year stint in the Peace Corp in Guatamala. He will be working for a development company of some kind. He is very tall.

7/28/00 Alan Mohl graduated from Rutgers Law - Camden and is now employed by a Federal Agency in a law enforcement capacity. I see him from time to time and he is well. He has a steady girlfriend. He lives in NJ.

11/12/96 amir peleg is living somewhere in the greater washington area with his soon to be fiance, talee, from israel

3/8/97 Amir [Peleg] got married by a justice of the peace in February (or January). They will also be celebrating the marriage this summer in Israel. The happy couple is living in Rockville.

Michael Plancey and Marsha Goldwasser (nee Kheel) are now cousins as his grandmother and Phil's (Marsha's husband's) grandmother were first cousins. Michael is currently working in NYC.

Debbi Pollak is living in Bridgewater, NJ and is looking for a way to get on e-mail so that she can actually communicate with other people more regularly.

5/23/97 Dan Rashal has purchased his own apartment in Tel Aviv, and sees JJ often.

5/23/97 Adam Roth is studying for his MBA at GW.

10/4/97 Nicole Rothschild is engaged to her college boyfriend, Lenny.

Nicole Rothschild is currently living in New York and working for her parents' real estate company.

6/4/01 Avi Rubel was arrested attempting to moon Prime Minister Sharon and has not been heard from since.

2/5/99 Avi Rubel is now living in Jerusalem and hanging out with Eliot Goldstein.

10/28/97 Avi Rubel has moved in with Aaron Goldberg in DC while trying to figure out his next career move. Avi just returned from a 2 month driving adventure across the United States with Eliot Goldstein.

5/23/97 Tamara Totah ran into Avi Rubel & Scott Greene on a corner in NYC. Funny enough, they both seem to be applying to Columbia Univ for Masters Degrees. That seems a bit odd -- Avi and Scott together again?!

Lara Saidman is in Law School at Northwestern University in Chicago.

10/21/97 Ben Saypol's new movie (okay his first) 'Telling Lies In America' just opened at the New York Film Festival. The movie stars Kevin Bacon, Brad Renfro, Maximillian Schell and Ben. Adam Skitol, and I made the journey to NY to be at the film's opening night. It was a lot of fun. We even ran into Senda at Hot & Crusty (relax, it's just a bagel place).

10/20/97 Ben Saypol: Ben Saypol was at Matt Heller's wedding on August 31, 1997. He sang one of the Sheva Brachot. "Telling Lies in America" just opened in a New York film festival of some kind. He's currently living in New York, Upper West side...

7/8/97 Ben Saypol: This has got to be a first. If you go to http://us.imdb.com/Name?Saypol,+Ben (the Internet Movie Database) you'll find the Ben Saypol "Actor filmography", and you will discover why, if JDS were a movie, we would all have a Bacon number of 2 in Kevin Bacon game (and the SSDS people would, naturally, have a Bacon number of 3 if URP were a horror movie).

12/28/96 Saw Ben Saypol. He just finished touring with West Side Story and is living in New York and auditioning for shows. He will also have a part in a movie (3 minutes, including a song) coming out this spring. I'm not sure, but I think Nicholas Cage is in it.

Ben Saypol is in the national touring verison of West Side Story.

10/21/97 Adam Skitol is finishing up law school and will likely be moving to LA to become a soft porn star (just kidding). He will be running a Fila Basketball field camp for athletes to come play at all summer, while various scouts look at the available talent.

12/10/96 Ari Sunshine is engaged to Jennifer Willows of San Diego. They will be married this spring (in San Diego), and Ari will begin rabbinical school at JTS in the Fall of 1997. Currently, Ari is the youth director at a synagogue in Sharon, MA.

1/12/98 Mayrav Teller, I am excited to say, has passed the Bar, and her sister, Rachel, has just returned to the U.S. after an extended stay in Niger, Africa.

11/15/02 Dan and Allison (Zwibak) were married on November 9, 2002, in a very pretty wedding in Bethesda, MD. Mike Scheinberg was there (and in a tux!
