happy new year:10:43 PM EST

We have a lot of good news to start off the year... :-)

Josh Banta, he is engaged. He is moving to Long Island. The wedding, he thinks, will be sometime in May.

Aimee opened up a baby gift store. She's personalizing children's accessories and selling unique clothing and fun gift items like hooded towels and monogrammed blankets. Her opening date was Sept. 3rd, so if you ever need a baby gift, then let her know, she can ship anywhere!

Alia is going to the University of Washington school of nursing this fall and working at the most kick ass woman owned sex toy store- TOYS in Babeland (there is a store in NY- you may have heard of it). The website is www.babeland.com.

The Upwelling is playing at Southpaw which is in Park Slope, Brooklyn, this Saturday October 11th at 8:45.

all about a beck (i/y)12:46 PM EST

Thanks to our field reporters Rebecca Schnitzer Kotok and Becki Davis, here is a bunch of interesting news...

Debbie Mirman got engaged!!

Becki Davis lives in Greensboro, NC right in between Raleigh and Charlotte. She finished her masters in Education and her first full year of teaching and coaching lacrosse at the high school level and was honored with rookie teacher of the year for Guilford County! Woohoo!

Anna Kolodnov graduated from art school in Florida, she is now living in MD for the time being. Anna is very proud of graduating and we are proud of her too!

Becky Schnitzer and Aaron Kotok moved to Boston in August (he started law school) and they got married in March in Washington. Aaron is from Buffalo and went to Penn. He is working this summer in the music law field. Up in Boston, Becky works for Combined Jewish Philanthropies (Boston's Jewish Federation) doing fundraising. They live in Brookline.

Sara Bresnick got married Memorial Day weekend. It was beautiful and about 50 of our old JDS teachers were there - Dr. Cook, Mrs. Zuckerman, Mrs. Laiken, Mrs. Ravin (and her husband), Mrs. Entin, Mrs. Graff, Mrs. Ravilious .... you get the picture.

Just a note to anyone getting married or having babies...

At this point, it seems that the best thing to do, would be to offset all these lack of updates with THE GREATEST NEWS EVER. So here is my try!

Major Mazel Tov to Lizzie, Erica, Claire, and Sara. Why, you ask?

Lizie is a mother to the most beautiful baby girl!

Pictures of Shira Leili Silver are availble in the gallery.

Erica is now engaged to her longtime beau Barry Kaplan!

And Sara Polon is currently preforming on New York City comedy stages everywhere. Check her out when you can!

Ellen Solomon Engaged2:49 PM EST

The best news I've had in days comes from Senator Lieberman's office in Washington D.C. where the Assistant Press Secretary for the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee (Ellen) got engaged yesterday to David Ginsberg, former head of the Gore campaign's research operation. Our first D.C. political powerhouse.

Mazel Tov to the happy couple!

Mrs. Lauren Keller to wed2:21 PM EST

I never really asked if it was okay to announce this on the website, but I'm too full of nachas to hold back. On Saturday, our very own Joshua Louis Keller (PJ4) asked for the hand in marriage of his longtime sweetheart Lauren. We will let you know what she said as soon as she decides. Kell, we are rooting for you.

Of course she said yes. Whoooohooo! Keller is getting married, and we here at JDSAlumni.org could not be happier.

Also I believe Carol Axler Turner was heavily involved in the Madonna concert on HBO last night. Her name went by and I did a double take and then it was gone. Carol, Mazel Tov! Great production.

Do you have news to share?

Get On The Bus12:58 PM EST

I am trying very hard to get everyone's current info, please help! Also send pictures and stories if you have any. I don't want this to be a site for Jed and his friends, it for us all.

In other news; at a small alumni / radiohead get together last Friday, Peter was saved from abandonment when I kicked open the door on the back of the school bus. The open door set off alarms, but allowed Peter easy entrance onto the packed bus home. Nice team work!
